In 1995 I started Doane Designs, "Natures Jewelry with A Human Touch". I am always looking for opportunities to expand my knowledge and new techniques to incorporate into my designs. I have completed courses from the Gemological Institute of America on diamonds and colored stones and have also taken metalsmithing, intarsia and Navajo inlay classes.
Over the years my work has evolved from working with nickel silver and brass to using sterling silver and a variety of gold from 10kt to 24kt. As a result, I use various techniques to create my designs. I employ hand fabrication, lost wax casting and fusion. If stones are used to enhance the design, they are either hand-picked or I custom cut them for that particular piece. Most designs are one-of-a-kind or limited editions and have a price range from $35.00 to $500.00.
Inspired by different cultures and architecture, each year my goal is to challenge myself to come up with new and exciting designs, while providing quality craftsmanship. I want consumers to enjoy wearing my designs as much as I enjoy creating them.
